PointFoundry is a 3D scanner for iPhone and iPad. It uses the LiDAR scanner to capture rooms and the TrueDepth camera to capture objects, builds them into point clouds and meshes on your device, and exports them to formats like OBJ and STL.

Common questions
Which devices does PointFoundry work on?
Room Scan needs a device with a LiDAR scanner (Pro iPhones and iPad Pro models). Object Scan uses the TrueDepth camera on the front of Face ID devices. The app shows the modes your device supports.
What's the difference between Room Scan and Object Scan?
Room Scan uses the rear LiDAR scanner for spaces you walk around and larger objects. Object Scan uses the TrueDepth camera for smaller things you hold or place in front of you, tracking the object's pose to reconstruct it in the round.
How do I get a clean result?
Move steadily and keep the subject well lit. For objects, a plain background and even lighting help the tracker. Once captured, use the viewer to trim stray points and smooth the cloud before exporting.
What formats can I export?
Point clouds and reconstructed meshes export to standard formats including OBJ and STL, so you can open them in your 3D, CAD, printing or game tools. Exports are saved on your device and you choose where they go from there.
Where are my scans stored?
On your device. There is no PointFoundry account and no cloud upload — scans stay local until you export or share them yourself. See the privacy policy for the full picture.
Why does PointFoundry need the camera?
The camera and LiDAR scanner are how the app captures depth to build a 3D scan. Without camera access there is nothing to record. You can manage this in your device's Settings.
What does a purchase get me?
Unlimited scanning, available as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime unlock. Purchases go through the App Store and are tied to your Apple Account, so they restore on your other devices and after a reinstall. If a purchase doesn't show up, try Restore Purchases in Settings.
